Step into the dynamic world of capoeira—where movement, rhythm, and culture collide in an electrifying experience. In this retreat, students will practice the foundational movements of capoeira, the vibrant Afro-Brazilian art form that blends fluid kicks, ground movements, and music. Alongside physical practice, students will explore the rich history and cultural roots of capoeira, as well as the impactful work of Mestre Jamaika.
Nestled in the stunning landscapes of Boulder Mountain Guest Ranch, this retreat offers the perfect setting to deepen your connection to movement, culture, and nature. Surrounded by breathtaking scenery, students will train in an environment that inspires mindfulness, creativity, and physical expression. The retreat is geared toward those who already practice capoeira, but is still open to all. Join us for an unforgettable retreat where culture, movement, and nature come together in harmony.
COMMUNITY DROP-IN CLASS
On Saturday, June 27 at 11:00 AM, Mestre Jamaika and Salt Lake Capoeira will offer a drop-in community capoeira class. Whether you are drawn to dance, martial arts, fitness, or cultural exploration, this immersive experience will leave you energized and with a newfound appreciation for diverse movement traditions.
INSTRUCTOR
Mestre Jamaika (Mauro Romualdo) is an internationally recognized capoeira master with over 30 years of experience engaging students and audiences worldwide. Born in Bahia, the birthplace of capoeira and his Afro-Brazilian ancestral land, he is passionate about honoring his heritage by sharing this powerful art form and strengthening communities through movement and music.

Boulder Mountain Guest Ranch invites the local community and visiting guests to a special free screening of The Wilderness — a newly released film partially filmed on-site at BMGR and throughout the Boulder, Utah area.
Make an evening of it—join us at Sweetwater Kitchen before the film for dinner, crafted cocktails, and sunset views, then head over to the Siloon for movie night!
This is a unique opportunity to experience the film in the very landscapes where part of the story was brought to life.
The evening will begin with the film screening at 7:30 PM inside the Ranch’s Siloon, followed by a Q&A discussion after the movie with Spencer King
