Yoga
We have locations fit for both indoor and outdoor yoga. The siloon is our root cellar turned event space, with room for 30-35 yoga participants. The room is constructed of stone from the property and cedar harvested from the mountain. Outside the siloon, we have a 1600 sq ft outdoor deck, that is completely flat and perfect for yoga, overlooking the start of the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument. We have 25 yoga mats, blocks, and blankets available for use, as well as 20 meditation pads.
Guide Outfitting
We offer day hikes in both the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument and Capitol Reef National Park. We take the guesswork out of your trip, which allows you more time to enjoy the breathtaking scenery and geological marvels that this area has to offer. Our guides have extensive knowledge of the area's natural history including, but not limited to, paleontology, anthropology, biology, and wildlife, enhancing your experience and creating a memorable journey. We can customize any trip depending on the group’s ability, time frame, and budget.
Hikes on Property
There are two main hikes on the property. The first is a hike down through the arroyo to the waterfall, with the option to continue going out towards the hoodoo (tall, thin rock spire). The other is the loop that tours our water restoration projects and wetland ponds. Both of these hikes take you to parts of the property that are rich with bio-diverse vegetation, migratory birds, and beaver ponds. We strongly recommend the wetland pond hike for birders!
Stargazing
The night sky here is among the darkest in the Southwest. Due largely to the resistance of infrastructure development in order to maintain a more rustic experience, our area is a go-to location for some of the best night sky viewing in the continental United States. With very little artificial lighting out here, you can stare up at the sky and see unobstructed views of countless stars. Lay out on a blanket on the lawn and see what all the fuss is about!
Fire Pits
We have 3 fire pits (one by the siloon, one on the lawn, and one over by the cabins) for guests to use. You can grab marshmallows, graham crackers, and chocolate from our main office and roast s’mores. We can arrange for local musicians to play acoustic music by the fire for groups.
Yard Games
Right outside our main lodge we have a chest full of yard games and a big lawn to gather on! We have games such as bocce ball, crocket, horseshoes, etc!
Swimming Pond
The water restoration projects resculpted the creek such that water pools in certain areas. This helps maintain water flow, but also provides us with a place to swim! Grab a river towel from the main office and cool off in the creek!
Guided Property Tours
Groups can arrange for guided property tours. Our owner, Brandie, will talk about the magic of the beavers, the land and water transformation, and projects that led to this environmental enhancement along with vision behind the sustainable practices.
Birding
There are over 200 bird species within the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument! BMGR has been deemed a migratory path for many bird species, including the blue heron. Our wetland ponds created by both the beavers and BMGR have given our fluffy friends a safe haven. For all you bird lovers out there, Garfield County has an array of hot spots to get your birding fix.
Massage (by appointment)
Guests can arrange massages with one of a couple local masseuses. Massages can be done in the lounge area or even up in your cabin or room! Contact information can be provided through the front desk.
Sound Systems
Our Siloon has a state of the art PK sound system, as well as a portable sound system that can go anywhere on the property. Microphones and music options available.
Live Music or DJ
If you need music for an event, we can bring in a local musician or DJ. We have 3 portable sound systems in addition to our PK sound system in the Siloon. Whether you provide your own set of songs or have us arrange with us for your favorite beats provided there are plenty of options to enjoy music and dance!
