Where Beauty and Serenity Meet
Boulder Mountain Guest Ranch is situated at the mouth of a stunning valley that gazes out upon Sweetwater Creek, Salt Gulch, and the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument, surrounded by Boulder Mountain in the Dixie National Forest. It embodies a prime location to just sit back, relax and soak up the peaceful serenity and quiet starry nights, as well as fill you with excitement for sun-filled adventures itching for the taking.
The Main Lodge is the heart and soul of the ranch. It houses a variety of different accommodations from rooms with Private bath to dormitory style bunk rooms and our Upper Suite. The Great Room, located in the Main Lodge, is a common area that offers complimentary coffee and tea with a spectacular view of the Staircase. The room also has an expansive terrace for taking in the scenery or the dazzling constellations at night, and a must-appreciated chance to connect with the Wi-Fi. Comfy couches, board games, books and a cozy fireplace make the Great Room the most comfortable place, regardless of the weather.
Our newly remodeled cabins have full kitchens, private bedrooms with handmade furniture and patio’s that look out onto the amazing landscape. Our glamping units consist of tipis and a cowboy tent. All units sit up on decks and have adjacent bathrooms and our Outdoor Living Solar Shower. Indoor showers are available.
Sweetwater Kitchen, our onsite restaurant, is so named after the stream that slowly ebbs outside the restaurant windows. We take a simple approach to cooking, starting with fresh and local ingredients. 95% of all our ingredients used in Sweetwater Kitchen are organic. Our meats are sourced from the state of Utah and are also organic and/or pasture raised. Food should be appreciated and respected and, tantamount to that, a reliable source of energy and health. We also strongly believe it’s something to inspire creativity! Sweetwater Kitchen is open every day except Wednesday, advanced reservations recommended. Indoor and outdoor seating is available. Open for breakfast and dinner with the option of to-go lunches to provide nourishment for your next adventure.
A stroll through the property is both relaxing and entertaining in itself. The on-property hikes offer a short walk to a year round flowing waterfall while meandering past the numerous beaver ponds throughout the arroyo, chalked full of bio-diverse plants and many different species of birds. Or you can take the longer hike that showcases the land and water remediation projects we have completed over the years, such as a series of wetland ponds, native tree and plants, terraced gardens overlooking the upper section of the arroyo that also houses many beaver ponds, plants and birds. Groups holding special events at the ranch will admire our Siloon, an underground room with a lounge fitted with awe-inspiring artwork perfect for hosting any occasion.
Outside on our lawn is the perfect place to gather beside a campfire, complete with rustic log-seats. We also offer games like horseshoes, croquet and bocce ball for a lazy afternoon. For our more adventurous guests we have an outdoor Solar Shower that is open air and fully heated by the sun. On a clear night and when the moon is not almost or all the way full you can see a vast array of constellations, planets and even the Milky Way. We also offer yoga and guided plant walks ( with advanced reservation ).
Boulder Mountain Guest Ranch offers a true opportunity to escape in a beautiful and serene setting: the middle of nowhere, and the center of it all.
