10. Is SWK’s food really all organic and local?

We try our best to source the best ingredients possible, and we mean it. We have our very own on-site organic garden that we harvest from daily during the season. We also have relationships with several hyper-local farms and gardens that supply us with items we can’t grow ourselves. Our beef is also from our very own ranching operation on the other side of town; Headwater Ranch beef. The meat is from a Red Devon variety and is completely grass-fed, organic and of course local. The ranch uses permaculture techniques that are beneficial to the land like herd rotation, and carbon sequestration.

11. What time does SWK close?

SWK usually takes its last table around 9:30pm. Please advise us if you are going to arrive later that that.

12. Is SWK open year round?

We are a seasonal business. We are typically open from April through the end of October.

13. Is there any food to buy besides what’s available at the restaurant?

Yes, SWK and BMGR offer several different kinds of foods for you to cook on your own in your kitchen or by the fire. We also have a microwave in the Great Room where you can heat up one of our handmade burritos or enchiladas. The BMGR store is open daily and food items can be found there.

Catering faqs

1.What is the best time of the year to hold an outdoor event?

Our business is open from April through October (sometimes we can hold events in March and November.) Typically each season has its own advantages and disadvantages. The best times seem to be late spring, or late summer and early Fall.

2. How many people can BMGR / SWK cater to?

Based on our venue capacity, the best group size is about 100 people. Yet we are capable of upwards of 150 people.

3. What daily activities are available for guests on the property?

BMGR is the perfect place for your guests to either relax or enjoy an outdoor adventure. BMGR sits on 170 acres and is bordered by the Dixie National Forest on one side and the Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument on the other. There are several hiking trails on the property one of which brings you to a lovely waterfall.  A collection of natural pools make for a perfect way to cool off in the heat of the day. Our neighbors also offer horseback riding and you may hire a local guide to take you on a hike off property for a super unparalleled experience. To really make it a relaxing experience, you can book a yoga session for you and your group, a massage, or an acupuncture treatment. Let us know what you desire and we’ll make it happen.

4. What are some of the best things to do around and in Boulder?

In the town of Boulder there are several attractions. One of the best is the Anasazi State Park and Museum. There you will explore several real ruins left by the original inhabitants of this area. There is also a gift store and outside in the parking lot Magnolias Street Tacos offers a delicious lunch. You can also find a lovely trail at our Town Park, see some local art  and get a latte at Burr Trail Outpost and then take a scenic drive down Burr Trail Road, which starts right in the center of town.

5. Is parking available on the property?

There is a large parking lot in front of the main lodge and you can also find parking right in front of our accommodations that are outside of the lodge.

6. Does BMGR / SWK offer floral arrangements or decorations?

Usually people bring floral arrangements and their own decorations for their events, but depending on the season we might have some beautiful flowers growing in our garden that we will be more than happy to turn into arrangements for your event.

7. How many people can lodge at BMGR?

BMGR’s onsite capacity is 56. There are several near properties where we can house guests if needed. Please email info@bouldermountainguestranch.com for info and rates on our auxiliary properties.

8. Is camping available at BMGR for events?

Camping is great way to offer your guests unique options and increase the number of people on-site for your event. We have several camping areas with access to bathrooms and washing facilities. Contact info@bouldermountainguestranch.com for more information on camping.

9. Is there cell phone service at BMGR?

At our guest ranch and most locations within the region, there is no cell reception whatsoever. Please prepare for this by printing out driving directions and alerting friends and family that you will be out of range. Guests are more than welcome to connect to our wifi in the main lodge and from there we suggest apps like WhatsApp, Google Duo, and Facebook Messenger for communicating.

10. Are there wild things or insects I should be aware of?

We are located in a very wild place and sometimes contact with insects and animals can be a reality. There is nothing to be afraid of but always being cautious and aware of your surroundings is a good idea in any remote location. On a hike in the summer bringing sunscreen, insect repellant and more water than you think you need is always a safe-bet to ensuring everyone enjoys their outings.
